چکیده
Piling-ups of geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) arrays against interfaces are known to produce hetero-deformation induced (HDI) strengthening and strain hardening enhance the strength ductility heterostructured materials. Here we report an interesting mechanism that can strong HDI hardening: consecutive reflections GND planar piling-up near opposite phase boundaries in a AlCoCrFeNi2 high entropy alloy (HEA). In contrast, transmission was found at grain fcc phase. The discovery here provides guidance for future materials design, which may improve combination metallic

EFFECT OF SILICON CONTENT ON THE STRAIN HARDENING OF DUAL-PHASE STEELS
Abstract: In the current work, the strain hardening behavior of dual-phase steels with different silicon content (0.34- 2.26 Wt. %) was examined using the modified Crussard-Jaoul analysis. It was shown that these dual-phase steels deform in two stages over a uniform strain range. Each stage exhibited a different strain hardening exponent varying with silicon content. At the first stage, work...
متن کاملHardening and thermal stability of a nanocrystalline CoCrFeNiMnTi0.1 high-entropy alloy processed by high- pressure torsion
A CoCrFeNiMnTi0.1 high-entropy alloy (HEA) was subjected to high-pressure torsion (HPT) processing under 6.0 GPa pressure up to 10 turns. XRD results reveal that the initial and HPT-processed microstructures consist of a single fcc phase and there is no evidence for creating a new phase and the occurrence of a phase transformation during HPT processing. It is shown that there is a gradual evolu...
متن کاملHardening of an Al0.3CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy via high-pressure torsion and thermal annealing
High-pressure torsion (HPT) and thermal annealing were applied to a face-centered cubic as-cast Al0.3CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy. Processing by HPT produced a nanostructure with a higher incremental hardness than in most HPT single-phase materials and subsequent annealing at appropriate temperatures gave an ordered body-centered cubic secondary phase with an additional increase in hardness. The...
متن کاملHigh Temperature Behavior of Dual Phase Steels
Dual phase steels with different martensite volume fraction and morphology were tensile tested at a temperature range of 25 to 5500C. Stress-strain curves of all steels showed serration flow at temperatures of 250 and 3500C, and smooth flow at the other temperatures. Both yield and ultimate tensile strengths increased with increasing testing temperature up to about 450<sup...
متن کاملThrough-Focal HAADF-STEM Analysis of Dislocation Cores in a High-Entropy Alloy
High-entropy alloys (HEAs) are a new class of multi-component alloys that exhibit surprising characteristics, [1] including very large strain hardening rates, large fracture toughness at room temperature [2], and a strong temperature dependence of yield strength at or below room temperature. These properties are closely linked to nano-twinning and dislocation-mediated plasticity, yet little exp...
